Each Yoshi's favorite fruit corresponds to their color; Green Yoshi likes watermelons, Yellow Yoshi likes bananas, Red Yoshi and Pink Yoshi like apples, and Blue Yoshi and Light Blue Yoshi like grapes. All Yoshis dislike peppers (and lose health when they consume them) excluding Black Yoshi and White Yoshi.

Yoshi can eat almost any enemy including Chain Chomp's in some games but cannot consume larger enemies such as Thwomps.
