The distinction between terror and horror was first characterized by the Gothic writer Ann Radcliffe (1764 1823), horror being more related to being shocked or scared (being horrified) at an awful realization or a deeply unpleasant occurrence, while terror is more related to being anxious or fearful.

The Terror: Infamy is a much-needed confrontation between America's past and present, but it doesn't deliver on the scares its title promises. Despite the happy-sounding title, the movie Smile is not for children. It is a very graphic horror movie that shows several mutilated bodies in all their gory detail.

There are many issues that are dealt with such as teen sex, how others look at you when you are different, and how sometimes commitment is a challenge. Because of some of the subjects discussed I feel that this movie is appropriately rated as PG-13. Dove approves Smile  for ages 12 and above.
