If light symbolizes God, darkness connotes everything that is anti-God: the wicked ( Prov 2:13-14 ; 1 Thess 5:4-7 ), judgment ( Exod 10:21 ; Matt 25:30 ), and death ( Psalm 88:12 ). Salvation brings light to those in darkness ( Isa 9:2 ). Although darkness is opaque to man, it is transparent to God ( Psalm 139:12 ).

Vernal equinox, a date in the spring of the year usually around March 21 and Autumnal equinox, a date in the fall of the year usually around September 23 are the days when earth experiences 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness.

The CW's Supernatural was originally intended to wrap up with Season 5's finale that saw Lucifer defeated, the apocalypse averted and Sam in Hell while Dean lived the apple-pie life with Lisa and Ben. However, the show did not come to an end, and, in many ways, it's the best thing that could've happened.
